OUR LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Solo Chicken Productions works and plays along the banks of the Wolastoq on the traditional territory of the Wolastoqiyik / Wəlastəkewiyik, whose ancestors along with the Mi’Kmaq and Peskotomuhkati / Passamaquoddy Nations, signed Peace and Friendship Treaties with the British Crown in the 1700s. This land is not and was never ours as settlers—the original treaties never dealt with the surrender of land, water, or resources. Instead, the treaties focused on the rules of the ongoing relationship between independent nations. We pledge to learn and continuously adapt our ways of working as a small stone on the continued path to reconciliation.
