Take a peek inside our creative process with Incubate – An evening of work-in-progress performances currently in development at Solo Chicken! Featuring excerpts from FIVE brand-new works at various stages of creation (some freshly laid and others just about ready to hatch) this is our most ambitious and diverse lineup in the company’s history! Including readings, movement, puppetry, music, comedy and discussion, Incubate is a unique opportunity to see how our work is made and get excited about what is on the horizon!
Incubate will be performed on November 14 2025 at 7:30 PM at TNB’s Open Space Theatre (55 Whiting Road).

Ifrit
Written and performed by Jean-Michel Cliche. What begins as a Canadian-born Arab’s pilgrimage to his family’s ancestral home takes a turn when he discovers an orphaned ifrit – an Arab fire spirit – among the wreckage. Inspired by Arab folklore and told through puppetry and storytelling, Ifrit is a story of identity, resistance and healing.
