Spirit Project Junior Summer Camp

An accessible art based camp for youth with and without intellectual and or physical disabilities!

The Spirit Project Junior Summer Camp is a one week extravaganza where teens with and without intellectual and/or physical disabilities, Autism and/or dual diagnosis can come together to create, forge friendships and have a blast.  This accessible camp is designed to create space for campers to explore their creative side through games, song, dance, visual art and the creation of a little public performance.

The camp is offered by Solo Chicken in partnership OPAL Family Services and with the support of The Charlotte Street Arts Centre and will take place in the beautiful Charlotte Street Arts Centre Auditorium.  The camp is modelled after Solo Chicken long running Spirit Project (for adults with and without intellectual and or physical disabilities) and focused on joy, inclusion and sharing the gifts of each participant through art.

What is the Spirit Project?

Since 2019 Solo Chicken has been running The Spirit Project, a weekly workshop where adults with and without intellectual and/or physical disabilities, Autism and/or dual diagnosis come together to share the joys of inclusive living and to create dynamic, engaging, luminous art.  Run in partnership with L’Arche Fredericton and The Charlotte Street Arts Centre, The Spirit Project has created numerous large scale works together including Magic Beans: The Musical.
