The Spirit Project

Solo Chicken Productions and L’Arche Fredericton, in partnership with the Charlotte Street Arts Centre, The NB Film Coop and Open Your Art are collaborating to launch the SPIRIT PROJECT, a year-long art-based project that aims to foster and share the voices of adults with intellectual disabilities through artistic expression.  From April 2019 to April 2020 Solo Chicken Productions with the support of L’Arche Fredericton, will facilitate a series of art-based workshops (visual art, film, improvisation, music and movement) open to adults with intellectual disabilities and the broader community (including but not limited to caregivers and family), that are focused on the themes of identity, inclusion and belonging.  Over the course of the project, participants, in collaboration with the project artists will attend workshops, community feasts and will work together to build a community celebration where the voices and gifts of the participants will be shared with the broader community.
