Solo Chicken Productions and The Next Folding Theatre Company are excited to be collaborating with Satellite Theatre and Théâtre la Cigogne from Moncton to present the Fredericton version of Shorts and Sweets / Culottes courtes et sucreries, a bilingual theatre party featuring innovative new theatrical works.

The first Shorts & Sweets kicked off in Moncton on Tuesday January 24th 2017 at the Aberdeen Cultural Centre with artists from Fredericton and Moncton presenting brand new, never before seen works.  Despite a power outage and streets slick with ice, the evening was a great success with audiences being treated to physical theatre, puppetry and bilingual comedy.  At 7:30PM on Monday March 6th at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre, Fredericton will play host to the same group of artists for another round of Shorts & Sweets.

These four companies are excited to be bringing artists from the two communities and two languages together and feel that the camaraderie and connections made during the Moncton performance set a great tone for the Fredericton version.  The companies are equally excited to offer audiences the opportunity to see these brave new works.  Performance opportunities like Shorts & Sweets offer performers the chance to create in short intense bursts with the promise of audience feedback at the end.  We look forward to sharing these new works with Fredericton and to the continuation of the series!
